March 2011: Portland's Alamo

Not only is the name, the building & the signage brilliant at this little car repair shop on NE Glisan St & 69th, but the Volvo's themselves are arranged like a stalwart battalion of soldiers defending their homestead; a seemingly accurate portrayal of the actual historic event.  Although the soldiers are wounded, so to speak, they are strong & resolved in their parked stance of defiance & non-resignation.

I smile when I pass by Alamo Automotive & I think, maybe this time, they'll win.
