December 2015: Without

This is dedicated to a woman I admire for so many reasons.  The only way I can say it here is that she liked me from the get-go & trusted me in a way a woman & a mother trusts another woman.  She completely included me in the family she had made.  I'll never know what she thought entirely, or what it was like to be her, but I know she grew to love me & I loved her because she didn't hide.  She let people in.  And that, I think, is what will resonate.

So sorry to hear news of Neeley's death. What an amazing, courageous woman known to me thru you. May she rest in peace now. I am thankful those beautiful family photos were taken a few months ago.

I'm also glad to have taken some photos of Neeley during my nanny days when I knew her best. Although I only have a few, they help me remember how present, thoughtful, candid, funny & different she really was.

So sorry to hear about Neeley. Although I never met her, I imagine myself in her shoes and it's excruciating to think what her family's been through. I'm glad that she had you.
