June 2015: Combers & Camels

Waldport, a three hour drive straight south (then west) from Portland, is a small, low-key town that faces the Pacific Ocean.  In the small downtown close to the water, there seems to be one of everything--grocery store, flea market, bar/drinking hall, massage studio, hair salon, bike rental place, bank, real estate office, high school, Mexican restaurant, bakery, post office, ice-cream joint, video store, glass/bead/fudge shop & gas station.  And every third weekend in June for 59 years, folks celebrate 'Beachcomber Days' which means everyone goes outside.  Thankfully this year it was sunny & warm for the pirate parade & most importantly, there were camels.
