This trip to the place we've lovingly dubbed 'Astorita' was a memorable one. We explored the upper northwest Oregon Coast, including the towns of:
Warrenton (where the rain came in sheets but we managed a picnic at a bench outside Fred Meyer)
Hammond (a small, friendly town with ocean + river views at Fort Stevens State Park plus indoor dining of fresh halibut fish n' chips at Bouy 9, a local pub where $50 was won in video lottery)
and of course Astoria (staying 3 nights at a 400-acre farm off Wireless Road that looms like a tired monument on the wetlands).
Wildlife included eagles, hawks, maybe an osprey, robust crows, shore birds, a million gulls, two blue herons, an egret, deer, numerous smushed frogs along Wireless Road, big slugs, fuzzy caterpillars + a few humans.

Love all these pictures especially using the window as a frame to show both interior and exterior. The house becomes the "all seeing" . The third floor is especially beautiful.
Nice windows into the soul.
I was just thinking this weekend how long it has been since I have seen those fuzzy caterpillars which were very prolific in my childhood!
Those window shots are amazing, Steffie. I would like to have a series of those framed on my wall (birthday present that I will be expecting from you).
I love you, you are so talented and look so youthful and happy
AWWWWWWWWWW!!!! I'm crying cause of all the soulful comments. The windows captured ME, I merely took their portrait. Thank you for all the thoughts & reactions--I did recently use henna dye on my grey hairs so that helps. This was a trip for CR's birthday--#42. He'll always look like a teenager though...
