The image that your photo of the derby car insidiously conjures up for me is a vague resemblance to a coffin; the most abstract, mysterious, and ultimately powerful manifestation of human geometry. If we could only wear our mortality in as evocative a way as coffins express it. Not one second of precious life would be wasted if we remain fully conscious of death's imminence.

The elevator reminds me of the underground trains in Asia and big South American cities...I wouldn't think that was in Baltimore.

I never forgot one of the photographs you exhibited at a gallery a few months ago: It was a picture of people going down an escalator, but at the same time it was a perfect, haunting metaphor for this, our pilgrimage from Earth to Hell...
