December 2015: Winners

We...

opened fitting gifts after cheese fondue,

barely avoided a highway crash--phew.

Learned 'Die Hard' is a good holiday flick,

achieved chimney fires sans matches or candlewick.

Ate fried okra, delicious tempeh & a hundred potatoes.

Tried our best to handle parents as friends not foes.

In 70 mm, saw 'The Hateful Eight'

& met the mountains in a frozen state.

Had lunch on a snowy lake,

bought edibles, a belt buckle, patches, pins, liquor & beer for all our sake--

then met a husky puppy who made our hearts ache.

Completed just one puzzle but attempted two more,

saw a seven-dog bobsled as never before!

Slept bad & then better, wiped to the core.

Sat in hot tubs for night sky & sunset sights,

awoke to -17 & a world in white.  

Even saw fireworks & strolled through blossoms of light.

The adventure for now is done,

but all in all, I think we won.
